Dating my kids!

When I was younger I wanted 4 or 5 kids. I was pretty positive I wanted a big family! I am close to my brother but I always thought it would be neat if there were more of us. When I had Carson, that changed! Initially, when I say that, people think it's because of how exhausting having a baby can be or how much work it is. Truthfully those things don't bother me. C was a fairly easy baby. Besides a ton of ear infections he was rarely sick. (Seriously, he dodged hand foot and mouth twice while his entire class was caught by it). In fact my biggest problem is that I don't get enough time with them. I don't get to do a library class or Kindermusik during the day, instead I have to send my kids to school for 11 hours then drive them to something.... The quality time is lost at this point because they have already reached their full capacity before we arrive. We don't get to have fun at this point and we are all frustrated!

I talked with my husband about this a lot before getting pregnant with number 2. When I was pregnant wiI was pregnant with H I was very stressed about splitting time between both my kids! We spend time with our kids, we just want to Make sure our kids have good memories with us 1 on 1 too. Eventually, we might try to leave one with a sitter and take the other to do something special and we are hoping once a month sets a good foundation for this tradition.

Why: making it (helper)

Like helped too. He doesn't really like veggies... So he mostly supervises.

Why: Making it

There are many reasons that I make my kids baby food. It's cheaper, better for them, easy, quick, and I simply feel better about it. Also, please note that Hannah's carrots are orange.... And fresh. Same with these peas! I also know exactly what is in the food. I simply feel better about it. I try to make one fruit or veggie per week. It takes about 15 minutes to cook, purée and put in the container to freeze. I would spend at least that on the grocery aisle picking it out.

In my opinion... Worth it.

Dirty Food

Why: organic

When Carson was born I made the decision to go organic for him. In the past 2 1/2 years I have received lots of questions and judgement. I guess I receive judgement for lots of things that I do. So this is going to be the first of a series of why I make certain decisions that I do. Right wrong or indifferent these are my choices.

There are lots of reasons I decided to go organic with Carson. It is my belief that in the past 15-20 years the quality of food has gone down. The fertilizers, pesticides and hormones are not good for the development of a small body, in my opinion. My husband and I do not really eat right. That is our choice. My kids are not able to make that choice yet. Until then I will continue to do what I believe us best for them. If I want to eat McDonald's (which I don't) that is my choice but it is something I will do on my own. Not with them.

I saw this great article come up on baby center which helps to outline the benefits of organic. I hope this helps you understand why I choose to go mostly organic for my kids!

I also decided to make my kids baby food. That will be a different post all together.

Crazy Carson

This week has been extremely trying. Carson has managed to work at pushing all my buttons at once. He doesn't want to eat, listen, walk holding my hand, mostly he doesn't want to do anything I want him to do. He will Insist on running to play chase everywhere he goes. Life is a game to him, I am exhausted and with Hannah on my hip I just don't have the patience I need to have. I am writing this post for me mor than anyone. He is only two. He loves life, and he should. I want to give myself something in writing to remind me why it's not his fault. Tis is a mommy issue. He's just a little boy. He just needs to be loved by his mommy.

January 6, 2010 my entire world changed in just 3 minutes when that second little line came across the pregnancy test. A few months before I had experienced a miscarriage. I was devastated, scared and determined not to let it shape me. I spent my entire pregnancy terrified every time I went to the bathroom. It was amazing being pregnant but I just waited for every little movement to assure me he was okay. It seemed easy enough for others to tell me just to relax, but I wasn't. August 27, he came into the world in a very graceful way, emergency c-section. We were on cloud nine. He was absolutely beautiful and absolutely perfect. My world changed a lot that day. Every moment since has been better. I am so grateful to have my little man. He really is an amazing little guy. Within minutes I was over any previous grief I had. I knew that if I had that first baby, I wouldn't have him. I wouldn't trade his beautiful smiling happy face for anything. Pure love!

He was a great baby. He was a great sleeper from the very start. He gets this from his daddy because I work up every couple hours to make sure he was still alive for months! He ate great too. Loved food! He had a very mild temperament, and only fussed when he needed something. He smiled like crazy and was happy to hang out with anyone who would pay attention to him. He stayed on schedule on his own, he knew when it was time for sleep with very few exceptions. Really he was a great baby, and even a very good toddler. The extent of his biting phase was him getting bit, repeatedly. He's kinda small and doesn't really rock the boat too much. The bigger kids took advantage of this sometimes and would bite him if he didn't comply. He learned other ways of getting what he wanted. He would take his toy to the other side of the room and stay quiet so they wouldn't take it for him. Pretty smart little guy!

He really does have the sweetest most perfect smile. His spirit is beautiful. I have never seen a little boy who loves his sister so much. If anything he loves her too much. He always makes sure she has a toy, or is okay. Anytime we go somewhere without her he asks where she is. I am so grateful that he is so great to her. I work hard to proceed cautiously if I think he might hurt her because I never want him to be afraid to hug or love on her. He has never shown aggression, and is so sweet on her. Growling like a dinosaur or hissing is as close to straight up ugly as he gets. Over all he's a pretty good guy. Today, I was so ready to get you to bed. Now, I'm sitting here wishing you we're cuddled up next to me.

Carson, my sweet little love of my life. I love you so much. Every single day with you in my life has been better than the day before. You're sweet, caring, loud, happy and beyond amazing. Your smile can turn any day around. I love spending my time with you. I am so blessed to be your mom. Please always know that I learn so much from you every day. I am amazed by you and I am a better person for having you in my life. I love you, I love your face. Your laugh. Your walk/run. Your hugs. I love you.

Sweet Girl!

Hannah, you're so beautiful. You're looks are perfect. You look just like your Mimi, and that's such a good thing! You have your daddy's facial expressions, and his temperament, which again a good thing. I started this a few weeks a go but found Iten my draft folder.

Love you little bug!

Mothers Day 2013

Look at this girl. The most patient personality on the plant. Definitely the most calm member of the Texas Hutto's. we've decided this comes from chases's brother Chad because it definitely did NOT come from my side of the family! We took her to the aquarium yesterday and she just hung out and was along for the ride. Her hair is starting to grow a little..... Which is good because I'm dying to see what she's going to look like and do some pig tails! I just can't figure out what color her hair will be, but she will be beautiful, that is a given. :) I just love her and her looks. She reserves special smiles for her daddy. He's the only one that can get her giggling out loud almost effortlessly. She responds to his deep voice and I can't get her to stop looking at him! A daddy's girl she will be. She is growing so quickly. She gets more and more beautiful everyday. For some reason I have a calmness that she will just be able to take care of herself and won't let the boys treat her poorly! I love her so much and can't wait to see who she will be. She will likely move mountains!

2.326 Days

> 6 years, 4 months and 15 days ago my life changed forever. One goofy decision to host a friends giving dinner for our guy friends turned into a night of wine filled fun, and a date proposal that will go down in history. It will at the very least go down in my history as the most important date proposal I will ever receive. 2.326 days ago I went on a date with my husband Chase. At the time we were simply two goofy college kids. Both mature, taking life way to seriously and ready to conquer the real world. Neither of us had any idea what was in store for us. Chase moved to Texas and began his career. I was still in school and anxious to graduate. My spring was filled with working long hours and traveling to visit chase. 212 days later we were engaged to be married. Ecstatic. In love. Committed. The rest of my summer was spent planning a wedding. In the fall I went back to finish school. 2 days after I took my last final I moved to Texas. The next day I was playing house.... Organizing my new apartment with my future husband and I dropped his TV. I had already failed and it had been less than 24 hours.... It gets better. 3 days later a man drove his car through mine in a parking lot and totaled it. We were clearly off to a great start. Im sure chase was concerned about what he had gotten himself into! A few weeks later I started my job and things were looking up. Though it was hard to concentrate since I WAS GETTING MARRIED!!!
>
> 5 years ago I made one of the most important decisions and commitments of my life. I married my best friend. He's one of the strongest most passionate people I know. He's smart, funny, ambitious, hard working and loyal. For 5 years he has challenged me everyday to be a better version of myself. He is still working on me though because I have quite a ways to go! ;) He is incredibly professional and as amazing leadership skills. He is wise beyond his years. He is the best dad I could imagine for my Carson and Hannah. I love to listen to him talk to them both. I love the way he tries to convince Hannah of things and negotiates with Carson.... He usually loses but he always wins more than me. I admire the fact that he not only lets Carson have the TV for his shows but he watches them with him. He can name every character and tell you about them too. When he is watching the kids he is spending time with them not doing dishes or laundry. It's something I know he'll never regret and I hope I can learn to do more of too. He is not perfect but he is amazing. I am very blessed. My kids are blessed. I love him more and more every day.

> In the past 1,826 days we have experienced many things. Love, Loss, Anger, Passion, Fear, Frustration, Happiness, Sadness, Hope, Peace, Discomfort and so much more. We have made amazing friends. We have lost friends. We have expanded our family.

> We have loved hard. We have fought, we've grown and learned from it. We have made three beautiful babies. We lost our first pregnancy. It was painful but It brought us even closer together. It is something with which I struggled for a long time. Though I miss this baby very much and think of her often, I know I would not have my Carson if we had not had the loss. He is perfect. I could never come close to imagining my life with our him. I would never trade him to escape that pain. With becoming parents comes a huge bucket of emotions and experiences all it's own. So much love, joy, stress, frustration. Mostly love and happiness though. Being a parent has encouraged both personal growth and patience. Our priorities are so different. It is so much more than sleepless nights, feeding, and changing diapers. A hole in our hearts has been filled. Strange because we had never known we were missing anything. Some of our best friends have gotten married, dated, broken up with, lost parents, lost family members, had babies, had major medical scares, moved far away etc. it's crazy how things can change in just a couple years.

> 3 years ago we lost my grandma (while i was pregnant with carson). Last year we lost chases grandma. Those were tough. Then 2 years ago we lost chases mom. nothing can challenge a relationship like an unexpected loss. We miss linda all the time. Its so hard knowing she wont get to watch our kids grow up and that she never met Hannah. It amazes me how much she reminds me of her.

> Our lives have changed drastically. We have grown into young adults. We have grown together as a team and learned a lot along the way. The most important thing we've learned is that we are very blessed. We have great jobs, a beautiful little growing family.

> Life is good.

Tone

Every time we go to lowes or Home Depot we need to add 15-20 minutes of time to ride the lawn mowers.... Or tractors! Carson impresses me everyday by the sentences he puts together. He is so smart and such a sweet and amazing little boy. I'm very lucky to be his mom!

Walk In

Well.... We made it 2 years, 5 months and 27 days without going to the walk in clinic.... Glad we did though.... Carson has another ear infection. He seems to be much better now!

Elmo

So.... A few months ago I heard Elmo was coming through Austin. I meant to buy tickets but completely forgot. Well this week I remembered.... But I wasn't sure if I could make it happen. Today at lunch I decided Carson and I were going! They had floor seats open. When I picked him up from school he was very excited.... Even though he didn't understand. I was worried he wouldn't enjoy but he did!

Poopy Week!

Last week was a poopy week.... Good news is that we're getting new floors! Hannah also sneezed last week in the bath tub. For 2 1/2 years I have avoided this problem! She and Carson both laughed as I scrambled to get them both out. Then Carson fell on the wet tile... Lots of chaos ending with chase coming home just as the second pair or jammies were zipped up! I swear he must have had a camera and was waiting for all to calm down to come inside! Impeccable timing! Of course we were all excited to see daddy! Just like always!

Snakes!!!!

This weekend my dad and Patti came to visit! I failed miserably on the photo taking so I guess they'll have to come back! Hannah sure did like snuggling with papa!

Shhhhh......

Last night after dinner I was wiped out! I couldn't believe when I looked at the click and it was barely 7. Luck for me I have to great sleepers! These pictures taken just after 8! I'm not sure why but after I get them down I always want to wake them up! Love them!! Like a lot. A whole whole lot! They're perfect. And they're mine! Chase and I are truly blessed.

Baskets for Hats

This weekend we went to eat dinner with some friends! This is Rylie, Carson's best friend. They've been together ever since Carson was born and I went back to work! Rylie even had a little taste testing experiment once with one of Carson's bottles. They always play well together and the mommies love play dates too!

Carson has found new ways to entertain himself with Hannah now that she's doing more than just laying around! He likes to take her for rides in the car. I should probably consider putting the bottom on so she doesn't fall through... Hmmm

Today our Jake turns four! I can't even hardly believe how fast these past few years have gone! Such an amazing, smart, train and car loving little boy! Happy Birthday! I wish we were there to celebrate with you! Maybe next year we will do a big celebration since your daddy will be home too!
